I started in insurance nine years ago as a consultant, and worked my way up to underwriting and induction training. Four years ago I was ready for a new challenge and that’s when I came to Lumley.
I found the work to be more varied and one of the things that I’ve really enjoyed is being able to get closer to our customers.
There’s lots of encouragement to put forward suggestions and ideas, which for me has included the experience that I brought to Lumley.
In the last three years I’ve been promoted from Consultant to Assistant Team Leader, and spent eight months on secondment as a Team Leader. I am now a Claims Response Team Leader. These changes have been a real challenge for me, but it’s a challenge I feel I’ve met.
The members of the Executive Team are good at communicating. I understand where they’re coming from, what they want, and how my job can contribute to the company’s success.
There’s a quote from Donald Trump that I like. He says, ‘You have to love what you’re doing to succeed.’
